Programs: Socratic Seminar Program

Overview

The Teacher Center at Purchase College, in collaboration with the Byram Hills Central School District, is sponsoring a series of Socratic Seminar Demonstration Projects. This series will be open to teachers and administrators who wish to observe this excellent teaching strategy in action. All seminars will take place at the H.C. Crittenden Middle School, 10 MacDonald Avenue, Armonk, New York on a monthly basis. The dates scheduled for the seminars are:

TBD; 9:00 a.m. to 10:30 a.m.

 

To participate in the Visitation Day Program, you need to do the following:

  1. Call H.C. Crittenden Middle School Main Office at (914) 273-4250 to register.
  2. On the day of the seminar, report to the Main Office to sign in and receive a name tag.
  3. A pre-seminar session with the coordinator, Mr. Joel Goldsholl, will take place at 9:00 a.m.
  4. At 9:30 a.m. seminars will begin; you may visit and observe more than one seminar.
  5. At 10:30 a.m., seminars will conclude; a post-seminar discussion will be conducted with the coordinator.
